Label the image’s role
A manufacturer image may help identify a published product, but it does not show that an editor possessed or tested a sample. A photograph should carry its source and purpose. Technical diagrams drawn by this publication illustrate concepts and are not representations of a tested device.
Avoid implying a laboratory
An attractive background, a bench-like scene or a precision icon can suggest testing that never happened. Design should reinforce the evidence label rather than contradict it. The abstract diagrams used in this edition are original editorial illustrations, with no performance result implied.
Preserve rights and context
Do not copy another publisher’s photographs merely because its article is public. Obtain permission, use properly licensed material or create an original illustration. Keep attribution with the asset so it remains available when the article is moved or redesigned.
Record note
