Expat Women Can Apply for Saudi Driving License From Today

Expat resident women can apply for Saudi Driving license from Monday, 21 May 2018. Currently issuing driving licenses to women who have a valid overseas license.

The official Twitter account of the Saudi traffic department tweeted last Saturday:
“We invite all citizens and residents of the Kingdom who wish to replace their valid driving licenses which they have obtained from other countries with a Saudi driving license through registering their information via the website of Saudi Driving License Portal (http://www.sdlp.sa) for completing the replacement procedures of the license on Monday, May 21.”

Applicants can obtain the appointment by registering https://www.sdlp.sa portal. Both Saudi and expat Women will be allowed to start driving in the kingdom from June 24

Can dependents (e.g. wives of expats) apply as well? Tried creating an online account from MOI to set up an appointment with SDLP, but it seems that independent Iqama holders are the only ones that can do this.
